IHSAA Spring Sports Officially Cancelled The Indiana High School Athletic Association staunchly supports our Governor, our State Commissioner of Health and our State Superintendent of Public Instruction in their herculean efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. South Dearborn seniors, Kyrstin Bond, and Bry Lagreca were named to the Dearborn County Register’s 10 player All-County first team.  Senior forward, Elsa Meek, received honorable mention honors. Congratulations Lady Knights!

Beacon/Drayer Physical Day Canceled

Due to the Social Distancing measures in place, Beacon Orthopedics and Drayer Physical Therapy is canceling physicals at all locations; including the one scheduled at SDHS on April 21st. Their recommendation at this time is to have all students-athletes  have their physicals done in conjunction with their Primary Care Physician.  Beacon and Drayer plan on continuing

Kyrstin Bond Named EIAC Winter Sports Senior Athlete of the Year

SEI Local Sports named SDHS senior guard, Kyrstin Bond, EIAC Girls 2019-20 Winter Sports Senior Athlete of the Year.  Kyrstin will continue her education and basketball career with Columbus State University in Columbus Georgia next season. Alumni Spotlight: 1999 Lady Knights Track Team

The Sectional Championship Lady Knights were loaded with talent.  The Lady Knights were led by four year letter winner, and one time 100 meter hurdle record holder, Nastasha Fuchs, shot-putter Jennifer Zinser, and team MVP Amy Schmahl.  Amanda Schmahl, Leslie Clark, Jessica Jones, and Jody Campbell teamed up to set the 3200 meter relay record

Alumni Spotlight: 2007 Baseball Knights

The 2007 baseball Knights made school history by winning the Regional and advancing to the semi-state.  The Knights were lead by Senior catcher Adam Wheat, 2nd baseman Brett Redwine, left fielder Jeff Lewis, and slugger Sam Schmeltzer, who held the highest batting average (.625) in the state.  Other key contributors included:  Josh Harrell, Cody Berry,


The IHSAA has suspended all athletic practices and events until May 1.  They have also removed “in-season” status for our spring athletes.   This allows athletes to participate in NON-school spring sports activities, until May 1.  The association also reduced the qualifying amount of practices to 5 upon our return.  This makes Thursday, May 7th the first

SD Coach & Player Named to South All Star Team

South Dearborn record setting QB Adam Dixon will be under center at the North-South All Star game on July 10th at Ben Davis High School.  Dixon will be in familiar coaching territory, as SDHS Head Football Coach, Rand Ballart will represent SD as the first coach in school history to staff the All Star football

Spring Athlete Eligibility Message

Attention all SDHS Spring Athletes:  Spring athletics are “in season” despite the suspension of your current high school season. Per IHSAA By-laws: club/travel practices are not permitted. Do not jeopardize your eligibility.

Spring Events are Canceled.

All extracurricular activities including practices and events are cancelled until April 6th, 2020.  This is subject to change and is effective as of today, March 17th, 2020.  Further direction regarding dates beyond April 6th will be communicated at a later time.  Please be prepared for ongoing communication regarding school days, activities, and events via school messenger,
