The Lady Knights took on a Very good Lady Raider team from South Ripley on Tuesday.
The Lady Knights got off to a very rough start against a very big and physical Lady Raider team. The Lady Raiders offensive rebounds in the first quarter helped them jump out to an 18-5 lead after the first quarter. The first quarter also saw the Lady Raiders shoot 11 free throws making 10 of them.
The 2nd period saw the Lady Knights get a spark from Britney Beil who connected on 4 early points, but the Lady Knights could not sustain the scoring momentum as the LAdy Raiders led going into halftime 36-12.
The 2nd half was marked by steady improvement on the offensive end by the Lady Knights. The Lady Knights attacked on offense and got a lot of easy looks that they have been searching for all season. The 3rd quarter saw Brooke Huddleston and Jaelyn Lows connect for 6 points a piece and Britney Beil scoring 5. The quarter also saw Alyssa McClanahan pick up 5 assists.
The Lady Knights second half offensive effort was something for this group to build on. The execution was there and more importantly the conversion of putting the ball in the basket was there.
Hopefully the Lady Knights can use that momentum heading into a rivalry game against the Lady Tigers from Lawrenceburg, whom they also will play in the first round of sectionals.
The Lady Knights JV team pulled out a tough victory 33-26.
