The SDHS Cross Country team recently returned from their annual team retreat. Held each year since 1998, the four-day trip combines daily workouts, team and individual goal setting, and games for a memorable mix of fun and team bonding.
Running on the trails gave the runners a change of scenery and a bit of a challenge, with steep inclines and changing surfaces. The days were also filled with enjoyable tournament games, traditions, and plenty of food. The team was also able to spend considerable time at the beach for a last bit of relaxation prior to the onset of the new school year.
The SD runners are looking forward to the promising new season. They are together and all in.
The first competition of the season will be at the Blue River Valley Invitational on August 17.
