South Dearborn Knights Varsity defeated Switzerland County High School 10-0 on Wednesday as Dalton Hatfield, Luke Brown and Preston Sullivan combined to throw a No-Hitter.
South Dearborn secured the victory thanks to six runs in the first inning. The offensive firepower by South Dearborn was led by Reese Willoughby, Dalton Traue, Nolan McLane, Adam Kunkel, and Dylan Wynn, all driving in runs in the inning.
Dalton Hatfield was the winning pitcher for South Dearborn. The hurler allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking one. Preston Sullivan and Luke Brown entered the game out of the bullpen to help secure the No-Hitter, both striking out 2 batters.
South Dearborn hit one home run on the day when Reese Willoughby went yard in the third inning.
The REMC Southeastern Indiana Co-Power Players of the game were Dalton Hatfield and Adam Kunkel. Hatfield went 3 innings, with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk. He retired the final 9 batters he faced. Kunkel went 2-2 with 3 RBI’s and a sacrifice fly.
