Both teams were strong on the pitcher’s mound Monday, but the Knights defeated East Central 3-1. SD pitchers allowed just six hits. The Knights pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning with a single on a 2-2 count by Dylan Wynn, scoring one run and another run on an error. Logan Thies earned the win. The righthander lasted four innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out one and walking one. Dalton Hatfield threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Hatfield recorded the last nine outs to earn the save. SD had six hits in the game. Wynn and Ryan Willoughby both managed multiple hits. Wynn led with three hits in three at bats.
The Knights will be back at East Central on Thursday for a 7:00 game. Go Knights!
