On a great night in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium the Knights manhandled the Bulldogs and saw every player get in the game at some point and KnightNation was out in full force (thanks to all those who came up and made all the noise, it was awesome). Thanks to a the Peewee players and coaches for coming and forming the tunnel for us to come out onto the field. We would also like to thank our Athletic Director, Ryan Walston, who put this entire event together and organized it with the other ADs. His persistence with the other schools made it happen and we are grateful for all his hard work. This was an exciting day and one the players, students and fans will remember forever. The Knights took control from the first play from scrimmage as Adam Dixon, on another record breaking night, found Reese Willoughby for a monster 50+ yard pass that set up the Knights first score after only 2 minutes of play, and they never looked back. Dixon threw for over 310 yards on the night breaking his own single game record from last week (and last season) and 4 TDs with 1 int. Jake Black hauled in 42 yards worth of catches and 2 TDs, one which was popped in the air by he and the defender only to keep great concentration and haul it in for the TD. Willoughby had another 100+ yards of receiving and a TD. Dalton Guthrie got going in the 2nd half amassing over 100 yards in just the 3rd quarter and 1 TD as the varsity was done after 3 quarters. The mercy rule was put into effect as the Knights went up 35-0 early in 4th quarter. Batesville did score late against the JV and Freshman players making the final score 35-7. The Knights return home next Friday for Homecoming as the welcome in the Connersville Spartans. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00.
