The Lady Knights took on the Lady Shiners in Friday’s consolation game of the Rivertown Classic at South Dearborn.

Rising Sun entered the game with a 2-9 record and South Dearborn was 0-13, looking for that first win.

It was an evenly played first quarter and half. The Knights led 9-18 at the end of Q1.
The Shiners led 20-19 at the half. South Dearborn came out of the locker room and outscored the Shiners 16-8 in the 3rd quarter to take a 35-28 into the final quarter.
The Lady Knights continued their strong 2nd half effort by outscoring the Shiners 16-9 in the 4th quarter to get the win by a score of 51-37.

For the first time all season, the Lady Knights had 3 players in double digits (Dixon, Ross, Wismann). Kiersten Dixon had 2 big 3 points in the 1st half and ended with 10 points. Zoe Ross had 11 and added 7 rebounds and steals. Bernadette Wismann had 4 assists, 4 rebounds and 5 steals to go along with her team high 12 points.

The rest of the scoring for the Knights was as follows: Jillian Bond 8, Emily Elliott 4, Megan Howell 3 and Breonna Burton 2.

Freshman Bernadette Wismann was named to the Rivertown Classic All-Tournament Team.
